About CAASI
Civil Aviation Authority of Solomon Islands
The Civil Aviation Authority of Solomon Islands (CAASI) is the statutory authority responsible for the regulation, oversight, and promotion of a safe, secure, and efficient civil aviation system within Solomon Islands.
Established under the Civil Aviation Act 2008 (as amended), CAASI operates in compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), ensuring that aviation activities under the State’s jurisdiction meet international safety and security obligations.
Our Mandate

- Implement and enforce Civil Aviation Rules (CARs)
- Ensure compliance with ICAO Annexes and international obligations
- Provide effective oversight of aviation service providers

International Alignment
As a Contracting State to the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention), Solomon Islands fulfills its international obligations through CAASI’s regulatory framework and oversight.
CAASI works closely with regional and international partners, including ICAO and overseas Air Navigation Service Providers, to ensure safe and seamless operations within national and upper airspace.
