Since Independence in 1978 until June 2009, the civil aviation regulatory functions were hosted by the Civil Aviation Division in the Ministry of Aviation.

Civil Aviation Minister formally makes Civil Aviation Rules, IAW Section 42 of the Act.

Civil Aviation Minister formally makes Civil Aviation Rules, IAW Section 42 of the Act. The civil aviation system has a new set of civil aviation standards (mirroring the ICAO SARPS). The old AN(OT)O were repealed.

Civil Aviation Act 2008 came into force and first Commence Date

Civil Aviation Act 2008 came into force and first Commence Date, paved the way for CAASI to be formally established as Civil Aviation Regulator.
